For a single unit, the All Equipment tab displays only one record that represents the selected unit. However, for a Unit Combo, the All Equipment tab displays all the pieces of equipment, such as chassis, payloads, accessories, and other Primary units that are a part of the Unit Combo.

When you attach an accessory to a unit, or place a container on a carriage, or bundle two or more pieces of similar equipment, N4 creates a Unit Combo to represent all the pieces that are related to each other.

N4 uses the following fields to identify the individual pieces of equipment in a Unit Combo and their relationship:

Related Unit: The unit the selected unit is linked to within the Unit Combo. For example, a container is related to an accessory or a chassis. Similarly, a chassis may be linked to an accessory or a unit.
Related Equipment Role: The role/relationship that the linked unit has with the selected unit in the Unit Combo. For example, a cassette/chassis will have the role of Carriage or flat racks in a bundle will have the role of Payloads.

For a Primary unit, you can use this tab to:

Attach equipment, such as bundle two or more pieces of equipment, mount a container on a chassis, or attach an accessory to a container.

To attach equipment, click . N4 displays the Attach Equipment form (on page 1).

Detach equipment, such as unbundle equipment, dismount a container from a chassis, or detach an accessory from the selected unit

You can only detach equipment if the unit is in the Active state (on page 1). You cannot detach the primary equipment in a unit.

To detach a piece of equipment:

Select the equipment on the All Equipment tab.

Click .

If you detach a chassis, N4 automatically detaches any accessories associated with the chassis.

In addition, you can use the following Actions menu options to:

Export SNX File: Export the Unit Combo details as an XML file using the snx.xsd format.
Update Holds/Permissions (on page 1, on page 1): Add a hold and grant, release, or cancel a permission for the selected unit.
Damages (on page 1): Add, edit, or delete damages for the selected unit.
Renumber (on page 1): Correct any errors in the equipment ID.
